Pajek 3.10 (February 1, 2013)

  • February 1, 2013: File with description of blockmodel (MDL file) can now be dragged and dropped to Pajek Blockmodeling window (1 or 2-mode).
  • January 27, 2013: Parameters for searching k-neighbours, shortest paths, and flows are now entered using single input query.
  • January 25, 2013: Additional parameter (Number of Repetitions) added to Layers/Averaging x Coordinate.
  • January 22, 2013: Maximum number of vertices that blockmodeling can handle when applied to 2-mode networks increased to 255 for each mode separately (before it was 255 in total).
  • January 13, 2013: Possibility to use tooltips for clusters when exporting to SVG (with SVG controls) added. When mouse hovers the pointer over cluster in a legend the list of all vertices in this cluster is displayed. Example (SVG)
  • January 12, 2013: Possibility to use tooltips for labels of vetices and lines when exporting to SVG added. When mouse hovers the pointer over vertex/line (without clicking it) a tooltip appears. Works fine in Firefox, Chrome, Safari but sometimes needs to be reloaded to start working in Internet Explorer. Option is checked in Export/Options.
  • January 10, 2013: Files can now be dragged and dropped also to Draw and Report window.
  • January 3, 2013: Pajek INI file can now be dragged and dropped, or included as command line parameter as well (e.g. Pajek example.ini).

Pajek 3.09 (January 2, 2013)

  • January 2, 2013: Drag and drop files is now enabled: Pajek reads dropped files from Windows (any combination of files with extensions NET, MAT, TIM, DAT, GED, VGR, BS, MAC, MOL, CLU, VEC, PER, CLS, HIE, VID, PAJ, LOG, or MCR).
  • December 13, 2012: Using Pajek for batch processing is now easier: All Pajek files can be now be included as command line parameters (any combination of files with extensions NET, MAT, TIM, DAT, GED, VGR, BS, MAC, MOL, CLU, VEC, PER, CLS, HIE, VID, PAJ, LOG, or MCR).
  • November 24, 2012: Command for saving REP (report) file is now recorded to LOG file and can be used in macro (e.g. SAVEREPORT example.rep).
  • November 23, 2012: Additionally to NET and PAJ files, LOG file can now be included as command line parameter when calling Pajek as well (e.g. Pajek example.log).

Pajek 3.08 (November 16, 2012)

  • November 16, 2012: Results of Citation Weights and Critical Path Method algorithms are now a multiple relation networks: arcs beloning to main (critical) path get relation number 2.
  • November 2, 2012: Blockmodeling removed from Operations and added to Network/Create Partition menu.

Pajek 3.07 (October 15, 2012)

  • October 15, 2012: Macro/Store constant(s) reported by Last Command to Scalar(s) added.
  • October 10, 2012: Vectors and line values are now written with higher precision to NET, VEC, Tab delimited files, and when sent to R or SPSS. Important when values are very large or very small.
  • October 9, 2012: Some bugs fixed when executing Citation Weights for very large acyclic networks.

Pajek 3.06 (September 14, 2012)

  • September 14, 2012: Calling VOSviewer (1.5.2 or higher) with Pajek Networks, Partitions and/or Vectors implemented (Export/2D/VOSviewer). Some examples.
  • September 14, 2012: Bug when calling external programs (e.g. SPSS, VOSviewer, programs added to Tools menu) with parameters that contain spaces (e.g. …\Program Files\…) fixed.
  • August 23, 2012: Number of different relations that PajekXXL can handle increased to longint (2.147.483.646). This is important when computing bicomponents in huge networks since bicomponents are stored as multurelational networks.
  • August 9, 2012: Color of vertices in RGB format is now imported as well when reading Mac Molecule files.

Pajek 3.05 (August 2, 2012)

  • August 2, 2012: VOS Clustering – another Multi-Level Coarsening + Multi-Level Refinement community detection algorithm implemented. Comparison of Louvain method and VOS Clustering.
  • July 28, 2012: Computing VOS quality of network according to partition added to Pajek and PajekXXL (Operations/Network+Partition/Info/VOS Quality).
  • July 25, 2012: Entering parameters for several procedures (e.g. random network generators) simplified: instead of one input box for each parameter, now only one input box with all parameters that must be entered appears.
  • July 11, 2012: Network/Create Partition/Degree (additionally to Network/Create Vector/Degree/Centrality) added to Pajek again (it is used often to remove isolated vertices).

Pajek 3.04 (July 5, 2012)

  • July 5, 2012: VOS (Visualization of Similarities) mapping algorithm included to Pajek. It produces nice 2D and 3D layouts for dense networks where values of lines represent similarities. It can be applied to networks containing up to 15.800 vertices.
  • July 1, 2012: Another version of Louvain community detection algorithm added: Multi-Level Coarsening + Multi-Level Refinement. For details see: Multilevel local search algorithms for modularity clustering.
  • June 23, 2012: Resolution parameter added to Louvain community detection algorithm.
  • June 18, 2012: Some improvements in implementation of Louvain community detection algorithm - communities found have larger modularities now.

Pajek 2.05 (September 25, 2011)

  • September 25, 2011: 64 bit version of Pajek - Pajek64 - available now. It is possible to analyze networks with some 100s of millions of vertices and lines (depends only on available computer memory).
  • September 20, 2011: Transforming 2-mode to 1-mode networks generalized to valued and signed 2-mode networks. And speeded up significantly.

Pajek 2.03 (February 1, 2011)

  • January 24, 2011: Additionally to predefined colors it is now possible to specify colors using RGB or CMYK format. Examples: RGBFF0000, RGB(1,0.8,0), CMYK00FF0000,CMYK(0,1,0.8,0). There should be no spaces in string defining a color.
  • January 1, 2011: Problem when changing screen resolution in Windows7 (e.g. selecting Windows XP style DPI scaling) to make text and other items larger or smaller solved.

Pajek 2.02 (December 1, 2010)

  • December 1, 2010: Version of Pajek that uses up to 4G RAM (works on 64 bit Windows only). It is now possible to analyze much larger networks.
  • November 14, 2010: Bug in export to tab delimited files fixed: if labels of vertices contain spaces, labels are enclosed in quotation marks (” ”).
  • November 13, 2010: It is now possible to export to tab delimited files with object names (instead of C1, C2, V1, V2…) by selecting Save as type: Tab delimited files with object names.

Pajek 2.00 beta (October 1, 2010)

  • October 1, 2010: Several improvements in memory allocation inside Pajek. Pajek fits now better to Windows 7.
  • September 24, 2010: User can now select appropriate fonts (Options/Select Font). Monospaced font is used in Pajek in Report window and some other windows where reports are column aligned, while proportional font is used otherwise (including Draw window). In this way Pajek can now display any characters (Chinese, Japanese, special letters …).
  • September 20, 2010: Options/Read-Write/Save Files as Unicode UTF8 with BOM? added.
  • September 13, 2010: Unicode support included into Pajek: Reading of networks defined in Unicode files with a proper UTF8 BOM (Byte Order Mask) added. (sample NET file).
